Leadership is a value that I hold dear to my heart, which is why my time being an active member of my local 4-H Club for the past eight years has been such an important influence in my life. During my time in the club, I have served as Treasurer, Vice President, and am currently the President. Within the club, I am able to help build a culture with a diverse array of members pursuing different interests. Being able to bring together a community of so many different people has always been important to me. Another way I engage in my community is by being apart of my barn's IEA team. For the past five years, the team has allowed me to ride many different horses within a competitive and supportive environment.
Throughout my experiences within my IEA and 4-H communities, I've been able to mentor younger members and help plant seeds for the next generation. Whether it be at the barn or with my 4-H club, we are all working together with a unified mission to enrich and educate our communities. All of these opportunities have allowed me to work and grow with people from diverse backgrounds, which continues to inspire me to be a better person.
My goal is to explore my passions for both art and riding in the future, and for this reason I am interested in SCAD specifically. To me, SCAD provides the ideal blend of an art focused community and collegiate level riding like no other.
